JARU – Elderly man is run over by scooter while trying to cross avenue; driver fled the scene

A 62-year-old man was the victim of a hit-and-run on Thursday afternoon (13) on Avenida Dom Pedro I, in Setor 05, in Jaru.

The elderly man was following on a bicycle when he was hit by a black Honda Pop 100 scooter, driven by a delivery man, who fled the scene without providing proper assistance to the victim and was not identified.

The victim was rescued by the Fire Department and sent to the Municipal Hospital of Jaru to receive the proper medical care.
