The objection was contained in a letter sent by Juniver Girsang to a number of mass media. A rebuttal letter was sent regarding untrue news or hoaxes regarding the alleged retrieval of customer data.
“We will investigate the source who spread this untrue news because it is clear that we deliberately defame our clients and are qualified to violate the ITE Law,” said Juniver told reporters in Jakarta, Thursday (8/10).
Juniver said in the report, the media quoted a resident named Ignatius Danang, as a source. In fact, Ignatius Danang was never interviewed like a news source.
Ignatius also stated that he never had a problem with Magic. However, there are media that quoted Ignatius’ tweet in July 2021 and made the news untrue on October 2, 2021.
Juniver said that Ignatius himself strongly objected to his name being quoted without confirmation or presence interview process.
In the rebuttal letter, Juniver also stated that on October 3, 2021, Ignatius submitted his objection via email sent to the media editor
The objection email confirmed that Ignatius had never clarified or reported the matter to the editor of the article. The media is considered using his name without permission.
Ignatius, said Juniver has also asked the media to lower the news to straighten out the news so that there are no misunderstandings.
