“Just been told”: Kaveh delivers yet another deadline day blow, WHU fans will be livid

West Ham United have been dealt yet another deadline day setback, this time regarding Jesse Lingard.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a claim made by Kaveh Solhekol, with the journalist revealing on Sky Sports News (17:05) that the Hammers’ pursuit of the Manchester United forward is all but over, as a source revealed that David Moyes’ side believe there is 0% chance the Red Devils would accept their approach for the 29-year-old.

Speaking about West Ham’s interest in the England international, the Sky Sports reporter said: “We have just been told that there is 0% chance of [Lingard joining West Ham]. They are very, very pessimistic of their chances of getting Jesse Lingard.”

Fans will be livid

There may have been a great deal of excitement amongst West Ham fans about their club’s potential business in the January transfer window at the start of the month, but with only a couple of hours now remaining in the winter market, this excitement is now practically non-existent.

Indeed, despite Moyes admitting that he had funds to spend this month, the 58-year-old is still yet to sign a single player, with the Scot seeing his pursuit of targets such as Duje Caleta-Car, Darwin Nunez and most recently Lingard all ending in failure.

However, exactly why the manager decided to leave all of his business until the final day of the transfer window is something only the 58-year-old will know himself. If West Ham fail to bring in any new signings before tonight’s deadline, Moyes will have to accept that Irons fans will be fuming with him.

We have to admit, they would be quite right to feel this way.
