We’re not sure what the best thing to happen to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was—maybe it’s Lebowski Thor, who knows—but it doesn’t really matter anymore.
On Thursday morning, Variety reported that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness (whom WandaVision introduced us to) will get her own series on Disney+. According to the outlet, the show will be a dark comedy, which sounds about right to us. WandaVision‘s head writer, Jac Schaeffer, will reportedly serve as the writer and executive producer on the project. Unfortunately, no news of a release date, plot details, or anything to truly bite into came with the report. So, as always, we’re free to speculate a bit.
If you’ll think back to last winter, you might remember where we left the quasi-villain. We got to know Harkness a little bit throughout WandaVision, learning that she was a victim of the Salem Witch Trials before hunting down Wanda Maximoff in Westview. After she came to blows with the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision‘s finale, Wanda trapped her in Westview, brainwashing her to actually believe that she’s merely a nosy neighbor named Agatha. All of that said, we’re imagining that we’ll get more of Agatha’s origin story in her solo series, tracing what happened in her life between the Salem Witch Trials and WandaVision. Of course, we can expect her to break out of Westview somehow, potentially going after Wanda for another bout.
No matter what, “Agatha All Along” has to be the theme song of this thing, right?
