Khloe Kardashian, who has never attended the annual Met Gala, took to social media to respond to a rumor that she had actually been “banned” from the event.

Khloe Kardashian is speaking out amid speculation surrounding herself and the fashion world’s biggest annual event.
On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the 37-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum answered a number of fans’ questions on Twitter, including one query involving a rumor that has been shared on social media and in some media outlets suggesting Khloe has been “banned” from attending the Met Gala.
The individual tagged Khloe and tweeted in part, “khloé now that you are online please tell the met gala rumors are true.” The person concluded with, “please clarify thank u.”
This led Khloe to put the rumors to rest in no uncertain terms. “Absolutely NOT True,” the Good American co-founder replied succinctly.
Khloe has never attended the star-studded benefit event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute that is typically held in New York City on the first Monday in May and features an elite guest list curated by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour. This year, it took place on Sept. 13, due to the ongoing pandemic.
Although she herself has never donned a lavish outfit as part of the event, Khloe has publicly supported her sisters’ appearances there. Indeed, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have all been mainstays at the Met Gala over the years, as has family matriarch Kris Jenner. Like Khloe, Kourtney Kardashian has also never attended.
“I seriously can not get over how incredible my sisters look tonight!!!! I’m dreaming of them,” Khloe tweeted about the festivities in May 2019.

Earlier this month, Kylie, who is expecting her second child with Travis Scott, skipped the 2021 Met Gala, but Kim turned heads on the red carpet in a mysterious all-black look designed by Demna Gvasalia that included a face covering. Meanwhile, Kendall opted for a gorgeous nude Givenchy gown, complete with sparkling crystals.
Just because she hasn’t experienced the Met Gala doesn’t mean Khloe dislikes putting on an elaborate get-up. During a different point in her Sept. 28 Twitter Q&A, Khloe was asked about herself and 3-year-old daughter True Thompson‘s Halloween costume plans for next month.
“We haven’t chosen a thing,” Khloe responded. “Normally I am further along than I am right now but I can’t think of some thing. True wants to be Moana and she wants me to be the pig, pua lol.”
