Amid their ongoing divorce proceedings, Kim Kardashian has made a rare public statement about how her ex-husband Kanye West has represented his time with their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Access to his kids has been an ongoing concern for the rapper. In January there was a public disagreement over whether he had been able to attend his four-year-old daughter Chicago’s birthday party. Since Kardashian was declared legally single in early March, the posts have continued.
On March 14 the rapper took to Instagram to imply that time with his kids was rare. “This was on my daughters back pack when I was ‘allowed’ to see her last week,” he wrote under a picture of three enamel pins: Kim, Kanye, and a green alien. “This is why I go so hard for my family I am wired to protect my family at all cost As the priest of my home Don’t worry Northy God is still alive.”
Though West did not explicitly say it, one could interpret from the message that he hadn’t been with his eight-year-old daughter North in a week, which Kardashian says is false. Commenting on his social media for the first time since news of the divorce broke, the Skims founder wrote, “Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.”
Previously, Kim Kardashian’s only social media post about the coparenting issues was a lengthy statement posted to her Instagram Stories about her estranged husband’s behavior regarding their daughter North’s TikTok account.
“Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she wrote in February. “Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all…I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully, he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
