KKR player undergoes surgery; Shares update from hospital

India and Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Kuldeep Yadav underwent a successful knee surgery on Wednesday for an injury that he sustained during one of the practice sessions of the ongoing IPL in the UAE. The 26-year-old player shared a picture of himself from the hospital on social media following the surgery.

The spinner wrote on his Instagram handle, “Surgery was a success and the road to recovery has just begun. Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support. The focus is now to complete my rehab well and be back on the pitch doing what I love as soon as possible.” Kuldeep Yadav is expected to go through a long process of rehabilitation before he returns to competitive cricket. A senior BCCI official reportedly said, “Yes, we got the information that Kuldeep sustained a nasty knee injury during a practice session in UAE. Apparently while fielding, he twisted his knee and it was really bad at that point. There was no chance that he could have taken any further part and was sent back to India.”

While Dinesh Karthik responded to Kuldeep’s post that he hoped to see the bowler on field soon, CSK batsman Suresh Raina wished Kuldeep a quick recovery. Wish you a speedy recovery brother @imkuldeep18. Been there twice! Just focus on a good rehab & you will bounce back very soon. All the best,” Raina wrote.
