The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has fined Alimaniere Sociedad De Responsabilidad Limitada €1.1m for running unlicensed gambling websites targeting Dutch players.
Initially, the company operated time2spin.com, which was blocked by the KSA through an IP ban. To sidestep this, Alimaniere introduced timetospin1.com, enabling players to log in and access their accounts from the original site. Both platforms have now been shut down following further enforcement measures.
The imposed fine, exceeding the standard €600,000 penalty, accounts for several aggravating factors uncovered during the investigation. Notable violations include the lack of age verification mechanisms, which could have allowed minors to access the platform, and the imposition of inactivity fees on unused accounts.
Michel Groothuizen, the KSA Chairman, mentioned:
The Netherlands has a legal market to ensure that people who want to gamble can do so safely. With illegal providers, we often see that no account is taken of the prevention of risky gaming behaviour. We therefore take tough action against these types of parties.
This decision aligns with the KSA’s new 2025 fine policy, featuring a five-level structure for violations and penalties from €500 to €2 million.
