“We raised this issue again and again. But the government doesn’t listen. We won’t tolerate the [government’s] acts against the people of India,” he added. “We will not spare him; today or tomorrow, he will be sent to jail,” Rahul Gandhi warned the MoS.
“A minister’s son killed farmers. The [SIT] report called it a conspiracy, not an isolated incident. The PM doesn’t do anything about it. You (PM) apologise (to farmers), but are not removing the minister,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Opposition MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday marched from the Gandhi statue in Parliament to Vijay Chowk, demanding suspension of MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni over Lakhimpur Kheri case.
Opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, have been demanding the resignation of Misra ever since an SIT report said that the killing of the farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3 was planned. Rahul Gandhi, in fact, called MoS Home Ajay Misra Teni a “criminal” and demanded his resignation for being “involved in the murder of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri” on October 3.
Both the Houses have been adjourned multiple times amid protests by the Opposition in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.
Eight people were killed on October 3 after violence erupted during a farmers’ protest, claiming the lives of farmers and BJP workers ahead of a visit to Lakhimpur by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
