Lakshya Sen vs Lee Zii Jia: Olympics match details

After a gut-wrenching defeat against World No. 2 Viktor Axelsen in the semifinals of men’s badminton singles at the Paris Olympics, 22-year-old Lakshya Sen will be facing Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia for the bronze medal.

If Sen clinches today’s match against the World No. 7, he will become the first ever male Indian badminton player to have won a medal at the Games.

Ranked 22nd in the world, Sen lost to Denmark’s Axelsen 22-20, 21-14 in 54 minutes at the La Chapelle Arena. The Indian shuttler had control of the first game before faltering. He started the second game with a monumental 7-0 lead, but Axelsen roared back to win the game and advance to his second straight Olympic final.
