The inaugural edition of F1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix has yet to take place, but the three-year deal already looks close to becoming a full decade deal. Indeed, the Clark County commission, of which the city is a part, has taken a crucial decision for the future of the event.
Indeed, it has been decided that the Strip, the famous and most famous boulevard of the city, and on which the circuit will pass, would be left available to Formula 1 until 2032. The same goes for the other arteries main towns. The members of the commission thus recognized the event as beneficial for the region.
Ahead of the meeting, where the decision was taken unanimously, James Gibson revealed that the city and county are ready to host F1 for the very long term. The chairman of the commission spoke about the city’s willingness to accept the terms of the promoters.
“We have a three-year contract with Formula 1, but we are planning a lifetime partnership” he said. “It’s going to pave the way for us to be able to do that for at least 10 years. And then beyond that, I’m sure those who come after us will see the value in what we’ve done and will continue to do it forever.”
F1 recently expressed his desire to quickly extend the contract with Las Vegas to reach at least ten years. There is no doubt that with this resolution, the discussions will be particularly facilitated.
