TORONTO. Italian footballer Lorenzo Insigne will leave SSC Naples at the end of the season after fifteen years. From July 1, Captain Partenopei will be a player from Toronto FC Canada, with whom he has signed a four-year contract.
Insigne came to Naples at the age of fifteen, making his A-team debut in 2010 and playing 416 matches in which he scored 114 goals. The 30-year-old winger has 53 starts and 10 goals in the national team, which he also helped to triumph at EURO 2020. In the final, the Italians defeated England in an eleven shootout and won their first European title since 1968.
“Lorenzo is the player you come to watch at the match. There is always a chance that he will do something unforgettable,” said Bob Bradley, a Canadian club coach who triumphed in the Overseas League in 2017.
