Lebanese Prime Minister: Saudi Arabia is my political and religious kiss

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati affirmed that Saudi Arabia represents his political and religious kiss in response to allegations that the kingdom’s doors are closed to him.

According to a statement issued by the Lebanese government, Mikati’s statement came after a visit he made, on Friday morning, to the Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Ra’i. , where he briefed him on the progress of the government’s work, and asked him for blessings, prayers and supplications. His knowledge that “these concerns are great, but frankly, the eye is insightful and the hand is short, as the government has many problems that it is working to solve slowly.” The functioning of the government, and asked him for blessings, prayers and supplications.

In response to a question about opening the doors of Saudi Arabia to him, he said: “I believe that Saudi Arabia is my political and religious qiblah, and therefore its doors were not closed in any way, and when I perform my five daily prayers I am heading towards the Qiblah in Saudi Arabia.”

Mikati’s talk about Saudi Arabia came in response to what was reported by a Lebanese newspaper, which spoke of Saudi Arabia’s “refusal” to receive him.

In response to a question about the threat received by the judicial investigator in the Beirut port explosion case, Judge Tariq Al-Bitar, said: “We have inquired about this matter and nothing is certain. The investigation into what happened is being carried out by the Minister of Justice, and the necessary measures have been taken to add security and guard to Judge Al-Bitar.” And we must act slowly, away from populism, because we want to get to the truth.”
