The frontman of the Irish rock band U2 has stated that many of the songs of his formation are a “burden” for him, he feels “embarrassed” and he does not like the name of this group.
Bono (61 ), real name Paul Hewson, has sold more than 150 million albums with the group.
In an interview with the Awards Chatter, quoted by the BBC on Wednesday, he said it was difficult for him to listen to his own band’s music. He added that his voice on early U2 recordings sounds “very tense”
“ Once in the car our song sounded from the radio and my face got – as we say in Dublin – scarlet I was embarrassed. I think U2 is pretty much on the verge of bad taste , “said the singer of this Irish formation.
Their fifth studio album The Joshua Tree (1987) ) was recently named the BBC Radio 2 by the audience of the decade
While Bono agrees that his band “sounds great”, the singer does not admire his own vocal expression. The only exception, according to him, is the performance in the song “Vertigo” from the album How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb (2004).
“. “ The Ramones listened to me as a great discovery when I realized that I didn’t have to be a great rock singer at any cost ,” Hewson concluded.
