Lenovo Legion Play – another portable console on the horizon. The device is to run on Android

Lenovo Legion Play – kolejna przenośna konsolka na horyzoncie. Urządzenie ma pracować na systemie Android A few years ago, industry analysts suggested that gaming would move towards greater availability and mobility. Today, these “predictions” come true before our eyes. Namely, the Steam Deck is chasing the Nintendo Switch console, and there are also many indications that Lenovo is also getting ready to fight for a mobile player. Pictures of the alleged Lenovo Legion Play device have appeared on the network. Leaks suggest that the gadget will work on the basis of the Android system, although of course with a proprietary overlay. The use of Android is indicated by the icons of mobile applications such as Google Play, YouTube or Google Chrome.

Lenovo Legion Play is a handheld that would be the first an android console dedicated mainly to playing in the cloud. The equipment would offer a 7-inch Full HD HDR screen, two speakers and a 7000 mAh battery.

Published in the network pictures of the Lenovo Legion Play device reveal that the equipment will be equipped with two analog knobs, D-Pad, XYAB section, side buttons and the so-called triggers. In other words – a handheld standard. 3.5 mm headphone jack and built-in microphone. Console photos also clearly suggest the possibility of playing in the cloud, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce NOW application (which any smartphone paired with the pad can do).

However, it is worth approaching the revelation about the device with a hint of skepticism. We are not sure whether the equipment will eventually appear on store shelves. The photos were to be captured from the sites of the German and Japanese branches of Lenovo. They were supposed to be presented during the Mobile World Congress 2021 in March, which, however, did not happen. As always – time will tell if the device will see the light of day, but now we are sure that producers are more and more interested in this type of consoles.
