Love Island babies to a Made in Chelsea wedding – celeb events to look forward to in 2023

The new year is fast approaching, and the 2023 calendar is already bursting with exciting events.

The highly-anticipated King’s Coronation is coming up in May, while awards season is just around the corner.

From long-awaited weddings to bundles of joy, here are some of the biggest celebrity events on the agenda for the next 12 months…

Weddings

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

Made In Chelsea stars Sophie and Jamie are set to tie the knot in 2023 after 33-year-old Candy Kittens founder and former Strictly star Jamie popped the question in December 2021.

On their podcast, Nearlyweds, the couple confirmed the big day will take place in Marbella in May 2023.

During a Good Morning Britain interview in August, Sophie, 29, hilariously slipped up after presenter Richard Madeley asked when the couple would be getting hitched with Sophie replying “May 19th next year,” before audibly gasping as she realised what she’d done.

Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack

Love Island star Olivia, 31, has previously revealed she will be marrying 29 year old footballer Gary Dack in 2023 and they have booked their wedding venue.

In the past, Olivia has described herself as “not really a wedding girl.”

“I never dreamt about getting married when I was younger,” she said in an Instagram Q&A.

“I dreamt of getting the engagement ring and running away! Joke lol! But anyway, yeah, I have my dress, we have the venue, we have the best wedding planner in the whole world.”

Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Perrie Edwards is set to tie the knot with the “love of her life” Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after he got down on one knee after six years of dating.

Perrie has previously said she knows exactly what kind of dress she wants – and will be designing it herself.

“I definitely want long sleeves. I know exactly what I want, so I’m designing it and getting it made from scratch,” she said in 2014.

But as she can’t draw, the singer revealed she would be enlisting the help of former bandmate Jade Thirlwall to create her vision.

“I can’t draw so I’m getting Jade to do it. She’s going to draw it and I’m going to take it to somebody to make,” she explained.

Mel B and Rory McPhee

Spice Girl Melanie Brown is officially set to marry her boyfriend Rory McPhee.

The Spice Girl announced on October 28 that she and McPhee, her hairstylist and boyfriend of three years, were engaged.

“He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,'” the 2 Become 1 singer gushed on Celebrity Gogglebox.

“There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers.”

Babies

Stacey Solomon

Loose Women presenter Stacey33, surprised fans this week with the announcement that she is pregnant with her fifth child.

But her followers won’t have long to wait to meet the baby as, in another shocker, she revealed that she could give birth as early as next month.

Sharing photos of her blossoming bump on Instagram, she said: “Coming soon… Much sooner than we thought. When we found out we still wanted to have that first few months you usually would to adjust and get excited and enjoy it to ourselves, but that didn’t leave us with very long left.

“So this time next month we will be getting ready to say hello to a whole new pickle. So grateful.”

Molly-Mae Hague

Former Love Island runners-up Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are set to welcome their first child, a girl, in the new year – at the end of January.

Molly, 23, has been keeping her 6.8 million Instagram followers up to date with her pregnancy and revealed her sleep quality has been impacted.

She said: “If I was to say the hardest part for me, [it’s] the 80 trips [to the loo] in the night and the two hours it takes me to get back to sleep.”

Chrissy Teigen

Model Chrissy Teigen is set to welcome her third child with husband John Legend in early 2023. After suffering a heartbreaking pregnancy loss in 2020Chrissy – who is already mum to Luna, six, and Miles, four – revealed the news they’re expecting again has “filled our home and hearts again”.

The 37-year-old wrote: “The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. One billion shots later, we have another on the way.”

In February, Chrissy revealed she was undergoing IVF treatments with the hope of giving daughter Luna and son Miles another sibling.

Stacey Dooley

They met when they were partnered up on Strictly Come Dancing four years ago and journalist Stacey Dooley and professional dancer Kevin Clifton can’t wait to welcome their first baby in spring.

Stacey, 35, confirmed the news on Instagram in August. Sharing a picture of her bump, Stacey wrote: “Gaaaaaaang… We are having a baby! So bloody delighted. Kev, you’re magic, I love youuuu.

“(Was becoming impossible to hide and if one more person asks me if I’ve had my tits done in LA I’m gonna scream). Here goessssssss.”

Kevin, 40, added: “We’re having a baby! And I think my girl @sjdooley looks beautiful pregnant.”

Amy Childs

She’s already mum to Polly, five, and Ritchie, four, from previous relationships and now Amy Childs is expecting twins in the spring with her boyfriend Billy Delbosq.

The TOWIE star, 32, said she and businessman Billy, 37 – who she’s been dating since July 2021 – are looking forward to the next chapter.

Amy gushed: “Our family is so complete and we’re so excited for the next chapter.” She added: “I promise you now, I didn’t want any more children. When I met Bill, I thought, ‘I’ll have one more.’ We are so excited – it’s going to be absolutely amazing.”

Shaughna Phillips

Shaughnawho appeared on the winter series of Love Island in 2020, is set to welcome her first baby in March with her mystery boyfriend, Billy.

Last month, the 28-year-old shared a montage video which featured footage of an ultrasound scan and clips of a positive pregnancy test. Shaughna wrote: “Our greatest chapter yet.”

Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore said: “It’s the best, so happy for you!” Shaugna has previously said that she likes to keep her dating life out of the limelight, but was particularly impressed when Billy told her he wasn’t interested in a public romance.

Royal events

King Charles’ Coronation

The coronation of King Charles III will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023, with the Queen Consort being crowned alongside him.

While it has not yet been confirmed who will attend the ceremony, the Coronation is sure to be a hot event for celeb spotting, as Rod Stewart, the Beckhams, Richard E Grant and Joanna Lumley are all touted to be among Charles’ famous friends.

Awards season

Golden Globes

The Golden Globes will take place on Wednesday, 11 January from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

The evening will honour the best in film and American television of 2022, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Grammys

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023. It will recognise the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022.

BAFTAs

The 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards, dubbed “the British Oscars”, is set to take place on February 19 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, where the best films of 2022 will be announced.

Oscars

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honour films released in 2022, and is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 12, 2023.

This year, they’ll be hosted by American TV host, Jimmy Kimmel.
