Die Lufthansa beendet offenbar ihren größer angelegten Stellenabbau. In einigen Teilen des Konzerns werde Personal eingestellt, teilte eine Sprecherin des Unternehmens heise online mit. Somit gebe es dort keinen Stellenabbau. Allerdings gebe es an anderen Stellen einen Personalüberhang, beispielsweise bei den Piloten und Pilotinnen der Lufthansa Airline sowie bei LH Cargo. Dort sei das Unternehmen in Gesprächen mit den Gewerkschaften, um hier Lösungen zu vereinbaren.
Die Airline war durch die Auswirkungen der Coronavirus-Pandemie trotz Staatshilfen stark unter Druck geraten, weil der Flugverkehr eingeschränkt wurde. Im Geschäftsjahr 2020 kämpfte die Lufthansa mit starken Umsatzeinbußen von 63 Prozent. Unter dem Strich stand ein Verlust von 6,7 Milliarden Euro. Auch für voriges Jahr hatte die Lufthansa nicht damit gerechnet, dass der Flugverkehr wieder ein hohes Niveau erreicht: bestenfalls können 40 bis 50 Prozent des Flugangebots von 2019 erreicht werden, hieß es im April 2021.

Nachdem die Weihnachtssaison 2021 wegen der Omikron-Welle enttäuschend verlaufen sei und die Lufthansa einen Einbruch bei den Buchungen verzeichnen musste, kehren nun die Fluggäste zurück, berichtet das Handelsblatt. Zudem werde das Unternehmen bei etwa 107.000 Vollzeitstellen landen, was die Untergrenze gewesen sei. Für das nun veranschlagte Wachstum benötige die Lufhansa neue Flugzeuge, aber die bestellten Boeing 787 ließen auf sich warten.
Die Lufthansa-Sprecherin bestätigte gegenüber heise online Angaben in dem Bericht. Details dazu werden voraussichtlich Anfang März dieses Jahres zu erwarten sein, wenn die Lufthansa ihren Geschäftsbericht für 2020 vorlegt.
