CARACAS – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said during talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that Caracas does not accept provocations and manipulations directed against Russia, according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.
“President Maduro sent words of support to his Russian counterpart and said that Venezuela rejects any campaign of provocation and manipulation that is taking place against Russia,” the statement reads, TAS S reports.
Maduro thanked the Russian leader for helping to fight the coronavirus pandemic, especially for vaccines and drugs that have helped preserve the health of Venezuelan citizens.
The leaders also discussed the progress in bilateral cooperation, the establishment of a direct air line between Caracas and Moscow, as well as issues of economy, health, military sphere.
