The former governor Márcio França (PSB) went on the counterattack and accused the management of the Governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), to expand contracts with a social organization of which França was the subject of the investigation this week.
França posted a video on its social networks on Friday night (7), in which it states: “We went to look at the transparency and you won’t believe it. Do you know who paid 100% of the contracts? João Doria, João Doria’s government”, he said.
He also says that, while he signed three contracts with that OS, the Doria management signed 32 contracts and amendments. “The guy picks up his wallet and then points to the others saying; ‘catch a thief’”, he said in the video.
França also questioned in a note sent to the press why Doria is not the target of the investigation. “In other words, the social organization expanded its activities in the Health of the State of São Paulo under the current government. This same social organization continued to provide services to the current government, led by João Doria, who not only maintained a contract for the provision of services already signed, but also signed new bonds with the aforementioned social organization”, he said.
The operation
Márcio França received a search and seizure warrant by the Civil Police of São Paulo, on the morning of this Wednesday (5), at several addresses linked to it. The investigation investigates an alleged criminal scheme to divert resources from the health area.
Doctor Cláudio França, brother of the former governor, is one of the targets of the operation, which is being triggered in at least 30 locations in the capital, coast and countryside at addresses of the França family and also of former employees of social organizations, businessmen and doctors.
The investigation investigates embezzlement, criminal association and money laundering. The operation is accompanied by the Public Ministry and representatives of OAB (Order dos Advogados do Brasil).
Political operation
On the same day, France responded on his Twitter account to the operation he was targeted at. For him, “the elections began”.
Without naming names, but clearly referring to the governor of São Paulo and his vice, Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB), who is also a pre-candidate for the government, France says that the operation it is political and was triggered by certain “authorities”, with “afraid of losing the elections”.
“The 2022 elections have begun. 1st Political Operation. There is no other name for a mess, for false claims, that certain ‘authorities’, with ‘fear of losing the elections’, have produced the facts that occurred this morning in my house”, he wrote.
