A friend Mateja Periša , a woman from Split with whom the missing young man communicated on fateful evenings, must not leave Serbia.
Jutarnji list claims that the Serbian police confiscated her passport.
Nenad Periš, Matej’s father, met her more than ten days ago in Belgrade, in front of the police building. The paper quotes Nenad’s words that Maja said that she failed to communicate with Matej. The accuracy of that statement has yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, police continue to question Matej’s friends in Split. It was established that the company from Split ordered a bottle of whiskey from two different waiters in “Gothic”, so there were two bills, and allegedly now Matej’s friends claim that they were toasting with a bottle of whiskey paid for by Matej at the time he he was already gone.
“The van was picked up by a young man at 10 am. They contacted us by e-mail, duly paid for the rental of the van until January 2, but they announced that they would extend the rent and returned it on the afternoon of January 4. It was tidy, washed, there were no problems, it was returned by the young man who took it in. The police did not contact us regarding the rental of the van. The young man was sad when he returned the van and we did not questioned “, said the employees of the company from Zagreb’s Dubrava, where a Renault van was rented, with which Matej and his company went to Belgrade.
Matej’s father Nenad sent a message to Jutarnji from Belgrade.
“All search and investigation activities are continuing intensively and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia is cooperating according to the requests sent by the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia,” wrote Nenad Periš.
