Mexican economy will grow 6.2% in 2021, according to Banxico survey

The consensus of the analysts consulted by the Banco de México (Banxico) foresees a growth of 6.2 percent of the country’s economy by 2021 , according to the September survey.

In the previous survey, in August, they estimated an advance of 6.18 percent. For 2022, specialists expect the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to be 3 percent, a figure higher than the estimate in the last survey, which was 2.9 percent. According to this survey , specialists expect the inflation of 6.28 percent for this year; the previous estimate was 6.05 percent. While for next year it is expected that inflation will be 3.80 percent, compared to the 3.75 percent previously estimated. As for the exchange rate , by the end of the year experts estimate that it will be 20.30 pesos per dollar, very similar to the 20.36 estimated in August. And for next year, the exchange rate is expected to be 20.99 units per dollar at the end of the year, only one cent lower than the previous forecast (when it was estimated at 21 pesos per dollar).
