On Jan. 6, the world lost one of Hollywood’s most beloved and groundbreaking actors, Sir Sidney Poitier. Dozens and dozens of celebrity tributes continue to pour in with Michael B. Jordan being among the latest to honor him. “This is a devastating hit to our community. A true legend and barrier breaker,” Michael captioned an Instagram post with several black-and-white images of Sidney in his prime. “Your legacy will live on through all of us and ‘a very special thank you’ for all you have done! There is no us without him 🙏🏾”
The 34-year-old actor has often shared that he’s inspired by Sidney, who made history in 1964 as the first Black man to win an Oscar for best actor.
