“The first case is suspected to be an Indonesian citizen who arrived from Nigeria on November 27, 2021,” said the Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau, Drg. Widyawati, MKM, quoted from a press statement from the Ministry of Health.
Earlier on Thursday (16/12) the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced that a case of the Omicron variant was detected in a janitor with the initials N who works at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital, Jakarta.
N has never traveled abroad, so it can be concluded that N was infected from an Indonesian citizen who came from abroad who was quarantined at the Wisma Atlet.
It is known that there are 169 Indonesian citizens from abroad who have been quarantined at Wisma Atlet between 24 November to 3 December 2021, which have been traced. The result, one person, TF, probable with a high probability of contracting Omicron. The results of the PCR test for TF have been declared negative.
