The little story of a private collection

This exhibition is the interpretation of Banksy’s work from 1990 to today by François Berardino – alias “Beru” – intermittent of the show and enlightened amateur: “In 2007, while going to play in London at a street theater festival, I happened to find myself in a graffiti artist’s studio. I don’t know who he is and discovered his work. While visiting the workshop, he suggests that I take two drawings that I like. I choose the smaller ones in the size of my backpack. I’m leaving, end of the story. A few months later at a friend’s house, I discovered Banksy’s book “Wall and Piece” and then I understand who I met . “Since that day, Beru has been reconstructing Banksy’s artistic journey according to his findings.

The profits from the sale of derivative products and free contributions will be donated to the SOS Méditerranée association, which has been saving shipwrecked people at sea since 2014. They will also be used to supply the collection. So many initiatives supported by Banksy himself, according to the organizers of the exhibition.

Banksy, a world-famous artist

World famous artist claimant, Banksy is the pseudonym of a street artist whose real name and identity remain uncertain. Seemingly British, he uses stencil paint to convey engaged messages. In addition to the 270 works exhibited ( “no original work” , specify the organizers), François Berardino, private collector and curator of the exhibition, created a work after Banksy, in a limited edition of 200 copies. It will be sold for 120 € for the benefit of SOS Méditerranée.
