MOSCOW – Moscow is disappointed with the current state of Russian-German relations, but does not refuse to build cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today ahead of talks between Russian and German foreign ministers.
We are disappointed with the current state of Russian-German relations, which is going through a difficult phase due to the policy of comprehensive restraint of our country pursued by official Berlin, the Ministry announced, TAS S reported.
This policy consists in particular of a significant permanent presence of the Bundeswehr on NATO’s eastern flank, of greater participation in the bloc’s military exercises in various regions of Eastern Europe, in providing German territories (as the main zones of stationing and logistical support to American troops on the European continent, the Ministry emphasized.

Germany has consistently opposed Russia when it comes to a wide range of issues within the key international agenda, the Russian Ministry stressed.
Germany is trying to put pressure on domestic political processes in Russia, German media is openly conducting anti-Russian propaganda, while alternative information, including Russian media and Russian-language media in Germany, is under pressure, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock arrives in Moscow tonight.
She will meet with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov tomorrow.
