Of the Timber brothers, Quinten Timber is the least able to withstand his loss. That is what mother Marilyn tells the NOS, just before Ajax – FC Utrecht starts. The brothers Quinten and Jurriën Timber will face each other for the first time on Sunday, although the FC Utrecht player starts on the bench.
Asked who can take a loss the least, Marilyn answers quickly. ‘Quinten can’t stand his loss,’ she says. ‘Jurrien can do that. It will take a while, but then it will be over. Quinten can then sit with it for a long time.’
Faith is important within the Timber family and that became clear prior to the meeting between the two brothers. ‘I went to pray very early this morning, at half past nine I was at church,’ says Mother Marilyn. “Last night I prayed routinely with the boys and blessed the boys.” That is something that happens for every duel of the brothers.
Quinten Timber starts on the bench against Ajax
On Sunday afternoon Marilyn spoke with Quinten Timber. The FC Utrecht player starts on the bench, precisely when he could take action against his brother for the first time. ‘I spoke to Quinten on the phone. He was disappointed but I said
boy, if you get minutes, show it, do your thing and mommy is with you. It’ll be fine.’
