Moto G50 5G vs Galaxy A32 5G: which is better when supporting fast network? | Comparative

Looking for a 5G cell phone for less than R$ 2 thousand? Samsung and Motorola bet on this segment with the Galaxy A32 and

Moto G50. Of course, the two companies end up making some cuts to bring handsets at an affordable price and we often have a product inferior to rivals only 4G. However, if you insist on having a cell phone compatible with the fifth generation of mobile internet, TudoCelular will help you choose between Samsung and Motorola options.

Design and construction

Motorola Moto G50 5G

Samsung Galaxy A32 5G

Design is not the forte of cheaper devices and looking straight ahead we see that neither Samsung nor Motorola made an effort in these devices. We have a drop-shaped notch with an exaggerated edge at the bottom, especially on the Moto G50. This makes Motorola’s mid-range larger despite having the same screen size.

The G50 is also a little wider and thicker, despite having the same weight. The rear features a distinctive design with Motorola betting on conventional camera blocks and Galaxy adopting a more minimalist look. The G50 is sold in Brazil in blue and green, while the A32 can be found in black and violet.

Other points are similar between the two devices. The biometric reader is on the right side integrated with the power button and works well on both. There’s a standard headphone jack, and the hybrid drawer lets you use two chips or forgo the second to expand storage via a microSD card. The advantage of the Moto G50 is just the dedicated button for Google Assistant.

In the connectivity part we don’t have any differences either. In addition to 5G network support, there is 5GHz compatible AC Wi-Fi, fifth generation Bluetooth and NFC.

We will give the victory to Galaxy for being more compact and having a more current design.

We have a 6.5 inch screen with HD+ resolution on both sides. The difference is in the technology and speed of the panel. Motorola bet on an IPS LCD screen with a rate of 90 Hz, while Samsung saved money and brought a basic LCD panel with only 60 Hz. Motorola’s delivers better fluidity and more vibrant colors, while the Galaxy’s has a stronger brightness.

The truth is that neither of the two stand out in image and have color calibration that is far from ideal. For lack of high contrast we have a grayish black and the viewing angle is not the widest, however, at this point, Motorola has a small advantage.

With that, we give victory to the Moto G50 on screen.

Sound

Samsung has even been investing in stereo sound in the intermediaries of the Galaxy A line, but the A32 is an exception and here we only have a sound output like the Moto G50. Besides the sound is only mono, don’t expect good sound quality on these devices. Motorola lacks in mids and Galaxy exaggerates in basses leaving the sound muffled.

At least Motorola still sends headphones in the box, which may not be the best, but it helps to have a better experience with music . Samsung has been saving and no longer sends the accessory with their cell phones.

The Moto G50 takes a small advantage in sound and earns one more point.

Cameras

The Galaxy comes with the most complete photographic set. There are four sensors against three of the rival. Motorola left out the ultra-wide, giving preference to dedicated cameras for macro and scene blur. The main sensor is the same 48MP sensor and we have similar photographic quality when HDR kicks in on the Moto G50.

The A32 is a little better for shooting at night and has the ultra-wide one that captures wider shots and doesn’t lose much quality in darker places. None excel in macros and scene blur. The G50 does a little better when using portrait mode with people, but in complex scenarios it fails as much as its rival.

On the front we have a 13 MP camera on both. Motorola captures more skin details in favorable light situations, while Galaxy bets on a smoother effect. At night we take decent photos with both and we don’t see any of them suffering much from noise. Portrait mode is better on the G50 and has fewer errors.

Motorola’s Intermediate gets the better of selfies.

The A32 camcorder stands out for allowing recording 4K videos. The quality of the footage is superior to Motorola’s rival which is limited to Full HD. Both feature good stabilization and agile focus, but the G50 has inconsistency in brightness adjustment. Audio capture is stereo and doesn’t suffer much from wind noise.

We give victory to Galaxy on camcorder.

Price

We had a tie in our comparison. And now? Let’s try to break the tie with the price. The Galaxy A32 5G was launched in March 2021 for R$ 2,700, while Motorola’s rival hit the domestic market in September for R$ 2 thousand. With a cash discount it costs R$ 1,800 currently, the same value found on the A32 5G now at the end of the year.

Are we still tied? It seems so. As the Moto G50 is a more recent release and arrived cheaper than its rival, it still has room to depreciate. On the other hand, for being older, Samsung’s appears in promotions with a lower price and can be found temporarily cheaper than the rival.

We closed the comparison with one more point for Samsung and Motorola.

Conclusion

So which one to buy? If you’re looking for a faster cell phone, that runs some games above 60 fps, has more balanced sound, comes with headphones and registers better selfies, then it’s the Moto G50 5G that you should choose.

The A32 5G is a more compact device, has a brighter screen, delivers superior autonomy and recharges the battery faster, its rear cameras are more complete and the camcorder records in 4K. Samsung’s Android lacks optimization but has better support for system updates.

Buy what fits your needs best, but if the price difference is considerable, choose the cheapest.
