Today, we welcome the ‘Best Design Android Phone’ as Motorola calls it – the Edge 30 Neo – to our office. We have the unit in its Veri Peri purple color, Pantone’s 2022 Color of the year. The other three colors – Aqua Foam, Black Onyx, and Ice Palace – also make it clear the focus here is on the design.
We’ve already handled the Motorola Edge 30 Neo so we’ll shift the focus more on the unboxing experience and the phone’s color.
Motorola bundles the Edge 30 Neo with a 68W charger and a USB-C cable.
Motorola claims an ambiguous ‘power for the day’ with just 10 minutes on the adapter. We’ll make sure to put more specific numbers to the charging times. Alternatively, you can charge the Edge 30 Neo at 5W on a wireless charger.
The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is a compact phone. Its display measures 6.28-inch, which places it in the Xiaomi 12X’s company, or close to the Galaxy S22. The Moto isn’t as premium on the inside, but you’d never guess it on the outside.
It has a nicely textured back panel and a quality 120Hz OLED on the front. As a bonus, the Edge 30 Neo also has IP52 splash resistance. The weight of 155g is impressively light these days too.
Finally, the Veri Peri color is dubbed by Pantone, the company recognized for having the de-facto color space for color calibration, as 2022’s color of the year. There’s a little plaque recognizing the Pantone validation on the box and on the phone.
We’ll now hand this one over to the review team and they will report back with their findings shortly. Stay tuned!
