The Rossoneri started the match brilliantly, although they played in a squad weakened, inter alia, by injuries and coronavirus infections. Experimentally, a second line was set up, to which Stefano Pioli could not put Franck Kessi and Ismael Bennacer called up to the Cup of Nations of Africa.

Zlatan Ibrahimović applauded the successful attacks of his companions while on the bench. In turn, Jose Mourinho was irritated by the course of the match. The second confrontation with the opponent from Milan in the season and once again Roma made shameful mistakes. The Portuguese was running an Italian club for the first time as a guest in the capital of Lombardy. In the past, he was Inter’s coach and on Thursday he heard insults from the stands. The Englishman redeemed himself for completing a penalty kick and shot the ball into the goal after Lorenzo Pellegrini was shot from outside the box. The Giallorossi striker dutifully earned a touchdown goal as he scored a corner a minute earlier.
Milan struggled to regain a two-goal lead. After the break, Brahim Diaz fired a shot through the crossbar. Rade Krunić also wasted a good chance. The guests responded in the penultimate quarter of an hour and did not equalize only thanks to the beautiful interventions of Mike Maignan following the shots of Tammy Abraham and Henrich Mkhitarjan. The continuation of the attack was made difficult by Giallorossi in the 74th minute, a second yellow card, and consequently a red card for Rick Karsdorp.
In the 82nd minute, Milan’s players regained a two-goal lead and practically closed game. Two goals in advance and the player’s advantage in the field ensured peace. Rafael Leao dealt with Rui Patricio on his own after passing Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It was 3: 1 and the match ended with this result, although Zlatan still had a chance to improve him from the penalty spot. Rui Patricio defended the Swedish blow.
