Korean gaming giant Nexon has become the largest shareholder of AGBO, the U.S. film and TV production company known for Marvel series and led by Anthony and Joe Russo.
Nexon was the second largest shareholder in January after putting in $400 million but became the biggest in the first half of this year with a 49 percent stake by investing another US$100 million.
The Russo brothers have produced Disney’s four “Avengers” movies. Founded in 2017, AGBO has also made films for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+.
Back in January, Nexon pledged to speed up its global expansion into the film and TV sectors. Nexon is currently in discussion with AGBO about various projects to turn its own video games into films or TV series or vice versa.
