No foreign fans at the Beijing Olympics

The Beijing Winter Olympics in February will be held without a foreign audience, the International Olympic Committee has confirmed. All participating athletes must be fully vaccinated or quarantined for 21 days, the IOC added.

Unlike the Tokyo Olympics this summer, fans from China will be allowed in the stands in Beijing. “This will help the growth of winter sports in China by giving local fans the opportunity to watch live elite Olympic and Paralympic athletes, and will also contribute to a good atmosphere in the various sports facilities,” the IOC commented. )

The decision was made by the organizers from China, who, however, imposed quite strict measures on the competitors. The only ones who can save their vaccination certificate or three-week quarantine are those who provide a “valid medical reason” as an exception.

The Beijing Winter Olympics will be held from February 4 to 20, 2022. . / BGNES
