Not only in Veganuary: With this recipe you can make vegan butter yourself

In addition to delicious plant-based alternatives for milk, cheese or yoghurt, there is also vegan butter. And you can also make it yourself – even with the right buttery aroma, promises the Federal Center for Nutrition (BZfE). It only takes a few steps to make butter without animal ingredients in your own kitchen. The nutrition experts explain how it works.

Ingredients for vegan butter

Apple cider vinegar, plant-based milk substitute (e.g. unsweetened soy or oat drink), refined coconut oil,

turmeric or carrot juice, canola oil, yeast flakesOptional: Fresh herbs, salt, onions, garlic The finished butter substitute can be kept refrigerated for up to two weeks. For even longer enjoyment, the vegan butter can also be frozen.Reading tips
