Boris Becker has publicly expressed his support for Djokovic’s position, but has acknowledged that he is concerned that the current problems will be repeated in the future, and urges him to get vaccinated: “ I’m sure the French Open and Wimblendon will be watching the Melbourne episode, and I’m sure they’ll have strict rules about who will play and who will not. It’s everyone’s choice, but life will get harder if you don’t want to be vaccinated. Personally, I would advise him to get vaccinated in the end because his life would be easier, but in the end it is his choice and we have to respect that. ” said Becker .
Novak Djokovic’s participation in the Australian Open is on hold, as he awaits a verdict from Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, who is considering to cancel his visa despite the victory obtained by the Serb on Monday in court.
