Workers are afraid to return to the office after the quarantine

Fear of the risk of Covid-19, afraid of traffic jams, unable to find someone to help take care of their children… is the reason Some young office workers hesitate to come to the company to work after the quarantine.

As Hanoi gradually eases epidemic prevention measures, companies have notified employees. employees about returning to the office or ending the period of working from home.

Many office workers feel excited by being back to work after more than 2 months of social distancing. However, many people were confused and expressed their desire to continue working from home longer.

We talked to the above 4 young people and listened to the reasons of each. person.

Nguyen Thi Nhung – Pharmacist (29 years old, Ha Dong district)

One week Recently, both my husband and I had to return to the company to work. I have 2 twin sons in 3rd grade, this is also the period when they have to study online on computers.

My job is to be at the office, so no Can stay at home with 2 children. Honestly, going back to work like this makes me worry a lot, just going out on the street I was worried whether my children can study at home, what should I do?

But I am worried when my 2 children have to study online at home without their parents tutoring them.

Many times when I am at work, my children call me “Mom, the internet is down” makes me very impatient.

Every day, I take advantage of my lunch break to drive home to cook for my children, instructing them to learn, play and stay safe. My 2 children are very good and understanding, but the children in the active age group are still better.

Before, my wife and I were still busy at work but 2 children were taken to school or sent back to their hometown to be looked after by grandparents. Now that the pandemic is complicated, my whole family has to work harder.

I hope this will be the time to help my children become more self-disciplined and aware because they have to take care of the chores themselves.

Nguyen Minh Anh – Content Officer (23 years old, Ha Dong District)

Although Hanoi has eased many epidemic prevention measures, my company has not yet asked employees to return to work. Many of my colleagues look forward to coming to the office, but I do not.

Minh Anh likes to work from home because he is afraid to communicate continuously with others.

The reason is that I don’t want to have to communicate too often at work.

My job doesn’t require meeting or talking to other people a lot. However, I still prefer the feeling of exchanging work through chat software.

More about myself, I’m a mix of introvert and extrovert. I want to interact with people but not on a constant level.

In the past, when I worked at the office and interacted with many people, sometimes I had to live with a personality. is different. At home, I am more comfortable being myself.

Tran Tram Anh – Financial expert (25 years old, Ba Dinh district)

When the company allowed 20% of employees to work from home due to the complicated epidemic, I immediately applied.

Since working from home, I I feel much more comfortable when I can work with peace of mind without worrying about the risk of Covid-19 infection.

Tram Anh hopes to continue working from home until the epidemic situation in Hanoi is completely stable.

I work on the 37th floor of a large office building. The room is designed in the form of a co-working space.

Before social distancing, every day I have to go to the company 30-45 minutes earlier to avoid crowding on the ladder. machine with dozens of other office workers at peak hours.

Sitting at work, I also have a precautionary mentality, wear a mask and limit contact with colleagues.

During the complicated epidemic, I am quite worried when going to such crowded places.

I hope to be able to continue to work from home, or be flexible. between both forms of work until the situation is more stable.

Nguyen Bao Khanh – Programmer (25 years old, Long Bien district)

Although the city is easing the epidemic prevention regulations, my company still encourages employees to work from home. I look forward to continuing to handle remote work like this.

Before the distance, it took me 2 hours a day to commute to work and vice versa.

Because the company is 16 km from my home, sometimes there is a traffic jam at rush hour, I always leave the house around 7:15-7:30 in time to time attendance before 8:30.

In the days close to the deadline or many things, I feel tired and stressed when I have to travel all the way. When I get home, I feel exhausted, it’s difficult to spend time on personal hobbies.

If I still go to work at the usual pace, I won’t realize that commuting affects my health. how much. Since working from home, I don’t need to get up too early to check the car, rush to the street with thousands of other people.

Moreover, I also save quite a bit of money every month. In 2 months at home, I can’t think of how much money I have spent on moving.
