Opera announces self-publishing platform and $ 45,000 contest.

Opera GX, the world’s first game browser opens its own self-publishing platform for all GameMaker creators, called GXC . This news follows a recent change to the GameMaker Studio 2 licensing model that made it free for creators to develop games in the engine.

To celebrate GXC’s announcement, Opera is launching the Community Showcase competition for current GameMaker creators. Games added to GXC during this period will be eligible to win one of 45 prizes of $ 1,000 in various categories including Best Action Game, Best Arcade Game, and Best Soundtrack.
