The orchestra of ‘Adalberto Álvarez y su Son’ returns to its work, after almost a month of the death of the leader of the group due to the coronavirus.
“No hay día when I get up and don’t think about you all the time. Here I am already working to continue your work and all the projects we had in mind. I will always be that version of you and I will do things so that you feel proud, because I know that you are with me, watching me and supporting me, ”wrote Brayan Álvarez on the Cuban orchestra’s Facebook profile.
The publication shares an essay by the band where Adalberto’s son is seen playing the piano, as well as his other daughter Dorgeris Álvarez on another keyboard.
After Adalberto’s death, Brayan had announced that he would keep the musical legacy of his father and that he would work hard to honor the responsibility that his own father left him.
“I know that you are by my side helping me and giving me strength to continue that immense legacy that you wanted to give me the responsibility and the reins so that he never dies. Today I assume it with great pride and I promise you dad that I will give up my life for your work and although I am only 22 years old, they were by your side, living with you every day and learning from the Genius and Teacher that you are. I will always speak in the present tense because you follow c with us in your songs and in our hearts “, he wrote that time in the official account of the orchestra Adalberto Álvarez y su Son.
His sister, Dorgeris Álvarez, commented in the publication:” So it will be my brother and everyone with you so that daddy’s legacy never dies. “
The young man, 22, has his own orchestra, Brayan Álvarez and the sons of Son. Since he was little he studied music and is currently a virtuous pianist.
Adalberto Álvarez died on the night of August 31 due to complications from the coronavirus, with which he had been battling for a few weeks at the Pedro Kourí Hospital in La Havana.
