The Prerogatives Group , target of attacks by Moro, in response, challenged Bolsonaro’s former minister to a public debate .
Moro criticized Prerogativas through his social networks: “I read in Folha that the leader of the club of lawyers impunity (‘the crime has already happened, what’s the point of punishing it?’) is against my project for justice reform. Apparently, we’re really doing the right thing since the lawyers for corrupt people are against it.”
The Prerogatives Group brings together jurists from various fields of Law. One of the members, the lawyer specialized in Public Law, Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, confirms the proposal, in an interview with Forum.
“ We made a public invitation for a very honest, very transparent debate on the justice system. We hope he has courage and public spirit to accept. We know that audacity, lack of sense and lack of character really don’t lack for him . But let’s see if there’s a little bit of public spirit to participate in a debate like this”, says Marco, the group’s general coordinator.
The lawyer also says that “the only thing he can do effectively for the justice system is to be accountable . We will seek the civil and criminal liability of former judge Sergio Moro for everything he did ahead of the
Car wash”.
