Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S ) has invited the party leader of the Riksdag to a meeting at the Government Offices on the security policy situation. The meeting will take place on Wednesday.

The government opened a few days ago for discussions with the opposition in light of the growing Russian threat to Ukraine and the Russian security policy demands on NATO and the United States.
Discussions Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson and Center leader Annie Lööf have in a debate article recently demanded party leader deliberations and that the Defense Committee be recalled.
“We need to carefully analyze how Sweden should navigate a new security policy environment. We are not seeking a fight over this strategy, but on the contrary broad national unity “, Kristersson and Lööf wrote.

Now the Prime Minister has invited the parliamentary party leader to a meeting in the Government Offices on Wednesday. Her press secretary, however, does not want to give any details about what will be discussed at the meeting.

The security policy situation was also raised at a meeting between the Prime Minister and the party leaders on 12 January, but it was in connection with the government informing about pandemic measures. Several of the party leaders expressed dissatisfaction after that meeting and demanded deliberations.
