On Monday, Pitso Mosimane – who is now coaching Al Ahly in Egypt – posted pictures taken of him with Springbok players Willie le Roux, Franco Mostert, Jesse Kriel and Malcolm Marx.

He posted the following message along with the pictures: “Great meeting our fellow South Africans making us proud in the world. Keep on lifting our South African flag high.”
Kriel also responded to say: “Coach, great to meet you and your family.”
Pitso previously served as a flag bearer before a Bok game in 2018
In 2018, Mosimane – who was then coaching Sundowns – carried the South African flag prior to a Test match between the Springboks and All Blacks at Loftus Versfeld in Tshwane.
“It’s unbelievable that SARU decided that I should hold the national flag in such a big game like that. Humbling and a different experience,” Mosimane said at the time.
“I have never seen Loftus Stadium like that. What a game to be invited to. You feel like a small boy carrying the flag. You get goosebumps when the national anthem starts because the flag is on you. It’s another experience, it’s another level. It’s one of my highlights as a person. You know where the country is coming from, the background. It’s humbling to see that.”
