The Minister for Foreign Relations, Félix Plasencia, repudiated this Monday the statements of the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, about the intention to resume the national dialogue table between the Government and the opposition.
«It is not surprising that a politician of his ilk, incapable of respecting what was agreed in the Peace Agreements in Colombia, expresses himself in this way about the enormous efforts that all the parties involved they have been doing in favor of promoting consensus among Venezuelans,” wrote the Foreign Minister of the Republic on the social network Twitter.
In an interview with the EFE agency, the Colombian president questioned the efforts made by the government and the opposition to re-establish a dialogue process to seek a solution to the situation in Venezuela.
«Returning to the table is simply prolonging the agony of some dialogues that are unfounded because what the dictator wants is to equip himself with power, it makes no sense, “said Duque.
Duque considered as a priority condition that “Maduro get out of the exercise of dictatorship and usurpation”, while expressing his “discredit” to the negotiation process in Mexico, which was interrupted in October happened after the kidnapping by the United States (USA) of the diplomat Alex Saab.
The Peace Agreements, signed in 2016 between the Government of Juan Manuel Santos and the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, were disrespected by the Duque government. Since the signing of the peace agreements, 1,287 social leaders have been assassinated in this country.
Thus, Plasencia stressed that Duque’s obsession with Venezuela prevents the current president from worrying for the real problems of the nation of New Granada, where a massacre is taking place.
«The compulsive obsession with Venezuela suffered by the Capo, who has entrenched himself in the palace of Nariño, only seeks to hide the massacres, the displaced persons and the humanitarian tragedy that Colombia is experiencing, a narco-state tailored to Mr. Duque,” he posted on Twitter.
