As reported by Bloomberg, Popcorn Time, a pirate website resembling Netflix movie and series rental, has been closed. The illegal part of the website’s operation was to use a torrenting system. In other words – it allowed to play video materials while downloading them. Although many other torrent clients do it, the Popcorn Time business model has made this service one of the most popular “services” of this type. A year after Popcorn Time was founded, in 2015, Netflix itself saw a real threat in the aforementioned service. Today, however, he does not have to worry about it anymore.
