Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to face the Brazil women’s national team in the 2024 Summer Olympics Group C opener in Bordeaux, Soccernet.ng reports.

With the return of key players such as Gift Monday, Jumoke Alani, Ifeaoma Onumoni, and Morufa Ademola, coach Randy Waldrum has an 18-player squad to select from for this crucial match against the Canarinhas.

Nigerian football fans are eagerly anticipating Waldrum’s lineup for this highly anticipated clash.

Goalkeeper:

Paris FC goalkeeper and 2023 CAF Best Goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, is expected to start between the posts ahead of Tochukwu Oluehi.

Defenders:

Tosin Demehin, who was replaced by Christy Ucheibe during Nigeria’s Olympic qualifiers against South Africa, returns to the squad and is likely to partner with Osinachi Ohale at the center of defense. Michelle Alozie is expected to continue at right back, with Chidinma Okeke on the left.

Midfielders:

Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, and Deborah Abiodun are anticipated to anchor the midfield, providing stability and creativity against Brazil.

Forwards:

Asisat Oshoala, with no reports of fitness issues, is set to start, leading the attack for Nigeria. Uchenna Kanu is expected to take up the right flank, with Rasheedat Ajibade on the left.
