Future outlook for the convenience store industry-Seven-Eleven Future Strategy ~
Seven-Eleven Japan
President
) Fumihiko Nagamatsu
In the era of retail, customer values and behaviors are changing and diversifying even more. While such social transformation leads to “creation of new business opportunities”, it also leads to the risk of “being left behind by changes in the world” if we lag behind. Since its founding in 1973, Seven-Eleven Japan has taken on various challenges to meet ever-changing needs. Now, at the turning point of the times, we have been aiming for customers and local communities together with member stores, such as improving productivity through DX, creating new services, and creating stores that are closely related to the trade area environment, in order to accelerate further challenges. Introducing innovation strategies to deliver new “convenience” and “experience value”.
14: 20-15: 20 Lecture 2
Value creation and management reform of the retail industry
Seiyu
President and CEO
Tsuneo Okubo
From car society to online society In the midst of rapid changes in the times, people’s consumer lives and needs have changed significantly, and diversification and individualization are progressing. Now, what is required of retailers is to identify the needs of humans and society with a true marketing approach, carry out management reforms to meet them, and continue to create valuable value for customers. The key to this is the reform of the distribution structure that makes maximum use of data. By sharing the enormous amount of sales data possessed by the retailer closest to the customer with manufacturers and wholesalers, we will collaborate to optimize product development, distribution and inventory efficiency, and lead the manufacturing and retailing industry that integrates industries. .. We will explain the new way of retailing to provide customers with unprecedented value by speedily turning the PDCA cycle with the idea of open innovation.
15: 30-16: 30 Lecture 3
Design the reason why people gather for the customer.
Culture Convenience Club
Tsutaya Bookstore Company President Executive Officer
) Tomohiro Umetani
The Culture Convenience Club is proposing a new lifestyle with the mission of “a company that creates culture infrastructure.” Among them, CCC Tsutaya Bookstore Company is an organization that revolves around the platform business. The social environment has changed drastically, and the lifestyles of customers have changed completely, but there are things that can only be done at real stores. The company considers that there is a future for retail, and responds to the era of purchasing and providing what sells, designing the reasons for people to gather, and proposing encounters that can only be found here. We will also explain the future direction of retailing, which the company thinks about creating reasons from the customer’s point of view, with examples.
