The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, lied this Monday (17th), in an interview with a program on Jovem Pan radio, that there are 4 thousand deaths demonstrably related to vaccines against Covid-19 registered in Brazil.
“We have in the Health Surveillance Secretariat registered 1.7 deaths for every 100 thousand doses applied. This amounts to about 4,000 deaths where there is evidence of a causal relationship with the application of the vaccine”, Queiroga said.
The dubious number, however, is not supported by its own Ministry. According to Folha de S. Paulo, Health’s own epidemiological bulletin, of October 2021, indicated only 1 death “having as a causal relationship with vaccines”.
Looked for by the São Paulo newspaper, Queiroga went back, said that he “was wrong” and stated that the number he published in the Jovem Pan represents “cases under investigation”.
The Ministry of Health, however, has not released the most up-to-date data on possible adverse reactions from vaccines against Covid-19.
