Tampa Bay Rays Kevin Cash couldn’t help himself in taking a playful jab at Devin Williams for punching a wall and injuring his hand.

When you’ve had as good a season as the Tampa Bay Rays, manager Kevin Cash can surely feel free to say whatever’s on his mind: even if that means infuriating a fan base in Milwaukee in the process.

In case you missed it, Brewers reliever Devin Willams fractured his hand in the dumbest way possible, as he punched a wall after drinking too much celebrating the team’s NL Central title. Just brutal. Well, Cash decided to troll him with his most recent comments.

Kevin Cash pre-game speech tonight:
“First, I’d like to thank all of our pitchers for not punching any walls….” “If someone wants to vent, Ozzie’s available for a pushup beast mode session”#Rays #RaysUp

Kevin Cash trolling Devin Williams and Brewers was absolutely priceless

That quote right there is simply incredible. Cash had to know exactly what people would think after he dropped this line. Tampa Bay fans are loving it. The good folks over in Milwaukee? Not so much. With Williams’ injury, he’s now expected to undergo surgery and miss the playoffs.

While the team is holding out a little bit of hope he can return, it’s not looking likely whatsoever. Imagine helping your team to record a fantastic regular season, only to ruin things by not controlling how much you drink and losing your temper to the point where you punch a wall? It goes without saying, but the hurler is feeling incredibly bad about things right now.

Now, Williams will be forced to support his team from the dugout and not take the bump like usual until the start of 2022. Meanwhile for Cash, the Rays have locked in the No. 1 seed in the American League and they’re looking like big-time threats to get back to the World Series this fall.
