Episode 4 Recap
Kazuya heads down to the prison to meet Georg Carmine, the political prisoner. Georg asks about what happened after the rebellion was quelled. Kazuya tells him that Castor and Carla we’re imprisoned.
The involved nobles were all killed, including people suspected of conspiring with them. Their relatives were “removed,” related down to the third degree.
Their assets and property were confiscated, and the children below ten were put up in orphanages. Kazuya tells Georg that it can never be revealed to the public that he was a whistleblower.
Georg says he knew, and Kazuya is angry, knowing Georg sacrificed himself. He asks why Georg is so loyal to the Elfrieden kingdom but does not get a satisfactory answer. He gives Georg poisoned wine and says those that supported him, like Beowulf, will meet a similar end.
Kazuya tells Liscia that Georg is dead, but she just carries on with her work. Later at the award ceremony, Kazuya bestows land and responsibilities on the heroes. Aisha Udgard is appointed to the position of king’s guardian.
Aisha’s father’s contributions are also noted, and as a reward, he asks for Kazuya to marry his daughter. Kazuya is conflicted because he would if he could. Liscia gives him the go-ahead, and Aisha becomes his second wife.
Juna wants to use her achievements to marry Kazuya, but he refuses, saying there will be riots if he marries the nation’s songstress. He says he will come for her one day when she isn’t a songstress anymore.
