Reimagining Creativity: Inside The VIBE And ‘Variety’ 2025 Sundance Panel Event

On Saturday evening (Jan. 25), VIBE and Variety hosted an intimate event at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival at The Riverhorse in Park City, Utah, welcoming industry leaders and content creators to give insight into their inspirations and output. Reimagining Creativity, presented by Google TV and YouTube, welcomed guests for cocktails and conversations. Three discussions took place throughout the evening, with each focusing on a specific subject.

First, Angelique Jackson, Variety‘s Senior Entertainment Writer, and Shalini Govil-Pai, Vice President of Google TV participated in a fireside chat discussing the future of streaming, the changing role of technology, and how Google TV is reshaping content consumption for audiences worldwide.

Next, Roy Wood Jr., Marlee Matlin, Amy Berg, Harry Hamlin, and Tom Quinn joined Jackson on stage to discuss innovation in entertainment and breaking barriers through on-screen storytelling. The two-hour event closed with a lively conversation moderated by VIBE Editor-In-Chief Raina Kelley with YouTube Creators Michelle Khare & Kinigra Deon, actor DeWanda Wise, and Tara Walpert Levy, Vice President of Americas at YouTube.

Among the audience included notable attendees DJ D-Nice, Olly Sholotan, Etienne Maurice, Jennifer Freeman, Johnny Ray Gill, Scott Evans, and Tristan “Mack” Wilds, as well as speakers Roy Wood Jr., Marlee Matlin, Amy Berg, Harry Hamlin, and Tom Quinn Rhett McLaughlin, Link Neal, Julian Shapiro-Barnum, Sean Evans, and more.
