Removes ads from own apps

Samsung finally takes action.

Finn Jarle Kvalheim, Tek.no

All mobile phones come with a number of pre-installed apps, and Samsung is among those fills up their mobiles most with their own apps. Unlike many others, however, they have also had advertising in these apps, to earn a little extra money on, for example, they choose to use Samsung’s weather app or Samsung Pay.

However, Samsung announced in August that users had been heard and the ads would disappear. And now the time has come.

The ads have started to be removed for users in Samsung’s home country South Korea, but also users in the US say that there are no longer ads in the apps, writes Arena Arena

. October 1 should have been the first day without ads.

It is still not officially said in which countries the ads will be removed, except that South Korea was first out. With more US users reporting ad-free apps, we believe this will also apply to Norway.

If you still see ads, you may have to force-close the app and restart it before any changes are shown.

Now we can only hope they will do the same for the ads they started putting in the menus on their own TVs .)

Do you have advertising in Samsung’s apps – such as the weather app, Samsung Pay and Samsung Themes? Feel free to hear from you in the comments section!
