Report: PSG eyeing shock move for Cristiano Ronaldo

The French giants might make a move for Ronaldo as they are already searching for Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a sensational move back to Manchester United last summer after a three-year spell at Juventus. The Portuguese superstar has quickly re-established himself as a key player at Old Trafford. However, the recent dressing room unrest at the club might bring Ronaldo’s time at the club to an abrupt end.

According to Evening Standard, Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs who are eying a move for Ronaldo.

A change in the United dugout saw Ralf Rangnick take charge after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November. However, the Red Devils have continued to struggle for form while facing an uphill battle to secure a Champions League spot.

United are competing with Arsenal and Tottenham for the fourth spot, with their rivals looking way better at the moment. If they fail to qualify for the Champions, it would not be surprising to see Ronaldo leave the club.

On the other hand, PSG are preparing to deal with Kylian Mbappe’s free departure in the next summer. The French club still have not given up on their hopes for a new contract renewal. However, Mbappe edges closer toward a Real Madrid move with every month passing by.

The Ligue 1 giants are reportedly eyeing summer replacement, with Ronaldo being on their list. A potential PSG move will see Ronaldo uniting with his arch-rival Lionel Messi at Parc des Princes.

However, a transfer will depend on whether PSG will make a move for Erling Haaland next summer. If the club fail to secure Haaland’s signature, Ronaldo can emerge as a realistic option for the Parisians.
