Rock stars flock to the NFT business

With the rise of NFTs (Non-Fungible Token), more and more musicians are turning to this type of market to generate profits. The high value and unique reward system offered by non-fungible tokens is an attractive opportunity for artists.

Bands known as Kings of Leon have sold NFT for millions of dollars. Last year, the rock group auctioned off an NFT collection that was included in the promotional package for their new album When You See Yourself . According to Billboard, the band grossed more than two million dollars.

The sale was classified as historic, as Kings of Leon was the first musical group that used the Ethereum network to launch his work. The Yellowheart company was in charge of the development of the NFT version of the album, while the auction was made in the OpenSea digital market.

The tokenized version of the album included a moving digital cover and limited edition vinyl. Likewise, it granted access to a digital download of the new musical material from Kings of Leon.

Some of the NFTs were sold for about 50 ethers, equivalent to about $ 90,000, while others were purchased for 89 ethers, whose value is estimated at $ 151,300. The band reported that part of the proceeds went to charity.

Ozzy Osbourne launches NFT collection

The former singer of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath also has his collection of non-expendable tokens, baptized as CryptoBatz . The NFTs, developed on the Ethereum blockchain, were designed by Osbourne and are inspired by bats of different colors and physical characteristics.

The collection will be made up of 9,666 bats, which will be available from January of this year. However, on the Discord channel of CryptoBatz There will be a pre-sale for those eager fans.

The relationship between the bats and the singer started in 1982, when he mistakenly bit the head of one of these animals during a concert in Iowa, United States. From that moment on, Ozzy Osbourne earned the nickname “prince of darkness.”

Latin American bands also enter the business

Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio, founders of Soda Stereo, offered their NFT fans with benefits such as preferential seats, sound check and go to the dressing rooms for the tour “ Thanks Total ”. The band is one of the most important in Latin America. Rose to fame in the early 1980s and released seven studio albums.

The NFT series of Soda Stereo is also made up of 50 different models of virtual T-shirts autographed by Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio, founding members of the band. The collectibles are for sale on the Enigma Art marketplace and each is worth 0.03 ethers.

Likewise, the Argentine band Babasónicos launched collectible tokens with the publication of their latest single: “The left of the night”. Those who buy the NFTs will be able to access different versions of the song and receive a physical version made in silkscreen.
